File Esoteric is a simple elementary game that merely requires you, Test Subject 41, to stay alive and prove to the overseers that your mind is valuable.

You are actively being trained to be the ideal entity. One who's memory and intuition prevents the escape of evil, without compromising one's ability to self sustain.

You are not meant to understand the words of the Cognitive Investigators. They are merely there to control the sessions.

As soon as your mind is deemed unworthy, it will be wiped. No saves. No records.

What to expect in the full release:

  • Experiments and evaluation session will have 10+ new sessions each. More diverse and detailed to enhance experience. Less repetition will be observed.
  • Multiple endings will be added after 5 consecutive wins to enhance gameplay.

From the Creator:

File Esoteric was created to test future project ideas. A world created based on the thought, "What if our minds have a plane of it's own?".  There is so much lore to be understood in this game but due to it being my first ever game, the focus is mostly on Test Subject 41, and his experience without the "story".

The art, intro music and code was done solely by me. The investigator lines were  executed with the help of Dialogic.

If you played my game, I would love to hear your feedback! If you're feeling extra supportive, donations would also be appreciated!
